SUMMARY:Legend of Billiparilla at The Chartroom-Benefitting HOPE Safehouse (Local Animal Rescue)
DESCRIPTION:Legend of Billiparilla…\nBilliparilla was a survivor of The Theodore Maurice shipwreck in the mid-1800s on Lake Michigan.  He\, along with a few others\, survived and managed to make their way to the shores of the Root River in what was known as Racine\, WI. \nBilliparilla and his KREWE squatted on merchant ships in the area.  They became known for stealing any type of Whiskey\, Brandy\, Rum\, Etc. creating a shortage of all these liquors in town.  Billiparilla and his KREWE\, were reviled for their public drunkenness as well as the debauchery and pillaging of anything of value. \nAfter some time. Ruben Norton\, who was Racine’s first Mayor\, came up with a plan to rid the area of this nuisance.  Mayor Norton along with some of the bar owners in the area\, told Billiparilla about distilleries and breweries over in Saugatuck\, MI. They put Billiparilla on a boat and sent them on their way\, never to return here again. \nThe week of January 22nd through January 28th\, we begin to celebrate the end of Billiparilla and the availability of Whiskey\, Brandy\, Rum\, Etc. HOPE Safehouse and The Chartroom will be hosting a raffle ALL MONTH LONG. Benefitting HOPE Safehouse\, someone will WIN the “BOOTY”. A TREASURE CHEST FULL of Whiskey\, Brandy\, Rum\, and more.  We will also be offering “SECRET ENVELOPES” beginning in January for our dining customers. \nPlease bring them anytime in February\, still sealed\, to see your prize.
